The Purchasing Specialist role at Yardstick supports sourcing, ordering, and coordinating the timely delivery of food, beverage, and other supplies required for restaurant operations. This role ensures that purchases meet the restaurant’s quality standards, budget constraints, and inventory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Procurement Planning:
- Coordinate with Café Operations, Kitchen, and Roastery teams to identify purchasing needs.
- Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed to avoid shortages or overstocking.

- Source and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, reliability, and service.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors.
- Negotiate contracts and terms of purchase to ensure the best value.

- Create and process purchase orders (POs) accurately and in a timely manner.
- Track delivery schedules and ensure items are received on time and in good
condition.
- Address issues with delays, damaged goods, or supplier non-compliance.

- Work closely with inventory personnel to maintain accurate stock levels across all
branches.
- Support periodic inventory counts and reconciliation as needed.

- Ensure products purchased meet quality standards and specifications.
- Monitor pricing trends and suggest cost-saving initiatives without compromising
quality.

- Maintain up-to-date records of purchases, pricing, and supplier
performance.
- Prepare regular reports on purchasing activities and cost analysis.

Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business, Hospitality, Supply Chain, or related field is preferred.
- At least 1–2 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Familiarity with food and beverage products, supply chain management, and inventory systems.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with good organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and/or inventory or procurement software.
